Verner Panton prototype S-chair model 275 for Thonet, Germany 1950s Very rare pre-production prototype which was acquired from a former employee of Thonet based in Frankenberg Germany. You can see in the details on the sharp edges at the feet and back and the finishing that this piece is a non serial try-out version which makes it very desirable. The chair is made from one piece of steamed curved laminated birch plywood which was a groundbreaking technology in the 1950s.
