Unique Bossche School closed cabinet by Dom Hans van der Laan, The Netherlands 1960s

Large Bossche School closed cabinet by Dom Hans van der Laan made in The Netherlands in the 1960s. The furniture, designed by famous architect and Benedict monk, shows perfect proportions between length, width and height and symmetry between the size of the whole but also between the parts themselves. Everything is based on the legendary ‘Plastic Number” which Van der Laan developed himself. This cabinet is Produced by Atelier Jan de Jong in the 1960s.

Provenance: This cabinet comes from the rectory attached to the H.Johannes church in Nieuwkijk. The architects were Nico van der Laan and Wim Hansen (Bossche School). The contractor was J.de Bonth van Hulten from Nieuwkuijk. The church was opened on June 20th, 1955 by Bishop Mgr. Mutsaerts.
