Set of 4 rosewood Scandia dining chair by Hans Brattrud for Hove Mobler 1960s
Stunning set of 4 Set of 4 rosewood “Scandia” dining chairs by Hans Brattrud for Hove Mobler produced in the 1960s.
Hans Brattrud (born 1933) designed the Scandia stackable chair in 1957 as a student project at the National College of Art & Design in Oslo. The chair was revolutionary in shape and expression. By using horizontal ribs, a two-dimensional laminated shape made the whole three-dimensional. This was an ingenious construction that also has a unique and timeless design. The Scandia furniture range consists of a stackable chair, a lounge chair and an easy chair, all with matching tables. In 1960 the chairs were produced and additional models were developed. The Scandia furniture collection gained immediate recognition and became a clear eye-catcher at various exhibitions and fairs.
This set of 4 remains in a very good original condition with signs of usage consistent with age and usage. Still very usable. Note: these are very fragile chairs and we recommend to use them with care.
