Set of 2 “PK22” Lounge chairs by Poul Kjærholm for Kold Christensen
Stunning set of 2 first edition “PK22” easy chairs designed by Poul Kjaerholm for E. Kold Christensen in 1955. The chairs consisted of a spring steel structure, one pair each of legs, crossbars, and side frames, Joined with machine screws and covered with cognac leather.
The discrete and elegant lounge chair PK22™ epitomizes the work of Poul Kjærholm and his search for the ideal type-form and industrial dimension, which was always present in his work. The profile of the steel frame structure originates from his graduation project, the “Element” Chair (PK25™), from the School of Applied Arts in Copenhagen.
Both chairs have been completely re-upholstered with high quality cognac leather.
Condition: Completely re-upholstered. The frames show signs of usage as shown on the pictures.
