Set of 2 Erich Dieckmann Bauhaus armchairs, circa 1930s
Erich Diekmann for Gelenka Tyskland, bent beech plywood, Germany, circa 1930.
This German set is executed with bent plywood and solid wooden seat with a webbed back. The style is typical for prewar German design. Playful, bold curves and lines and experimental material. The chairs are modest yet refined by means of the large, curved armrests. The set shows lovely, warm patina.
Wear consistent with age and use.
Used condition. Both chairs have had an old repair with metal as shown on the last picture.
