Stunning PK 31 two-seater sofa designed by Poul Kjaerholm for E.Kold Christensen, Denmark 1960s. Beautiful sofa in cognac leather and heavy matte chrome-plated steel frame.
Poul Kjaerholm’s use of industrial methods and materials brought a fresh, graceful and clean new style to Danish modern design of the 19650s.
The PK31 model is characteristic of Poul Kjaerholm’s modest, minimalist yet elegant style and his ability to work with refined materials. This sofa has retained a perfect patina with some signs of age and use. Marked with the original stamp of E. Kold Christensen on the lower beam.

Condition: This piece remains in a very good vintage condition. The seat and back pillows have been renewed some time ago with a similar Danish leather as the original (original feather filling has been preserved). You can hardly see the difference but it’s worth mentioning.
