Pair of pine lounge chairs designed by Ate van Apeldoorn for Houtwerk Hattem in the 1970s. Van Apeldoorn, the founder of Houtwerk Hattem, was known for his expertise in woodworking and his particular designs that often incorporated natural materials.This lounge chair showcases the characteristic craftsmanship and attention to detail for which Van Apeldoorn’s designs are renowned. The use of pinewood is well known for the designs by Ate. The use of pinewood not only gives the chair a warm and inviting aesthetic but also highlights the natural beauty of the material.
The addition of cushions in the original brown fabric enhances the comfort of the chair, making it not only a visually appealing piece but also a practical and comfortable seating option.

Condition: The chairs remain in its original condition with only minor signs of wear. One chair is a bit more discolored due to sunlight on the armrests.
