Pair of lounge chairs by Illum Wikkelsø for Ryesberg Møbler, Denmark 1960s

Designed in 1968 by the Danish Illum Wikkelsø for Ryesberg Møbler, this pair of high backed lounge chairs feature the original leather upholstery and industrial stylings on the matte chrome frame. The horizontal steel slats of the backrest are encased in leather and its finials are capped in rosewood. The seat of the chair has thick upholstered arms, with a detached seat and back cushion, and a removable head bolster attaches to the chair frame with leather straps. The chair rests on four flattened disc feet. Super rare!
