Pair of DU 55 armchairs by Gastone Rinaldi for RIMA, Italy 1950s

Pair of rare U-back lounge chairs designed by Gastone Rinaldi, model DU 55, produced by RIMA, Italy. The suspended backrest gives elasticity to the structure and takes advantage of a metal tubing construction to its fullest. RIMA later filed a patent application for the design. Executed with patinated brass legs and new cream boucle upholstery.
