Pair of cross leg lounge chairs by Pierre Jeanneret Chandigarh 1950s (SOLD)
Armchair known as “Cross easy chair” designed by Pierre Jeanneret made from solid teak and braided canework. Canework seat and “X” type double leg assembly, forming armrests in the upper part and connected by a crosspiece. Flat canework backrest, slanted and separate from the seat. Included with newly upholstered cushions. Signed and numbered with full provenance!
Provenance: “M.L.A. Hostel” (hostel for civil servants), and “M.L.A. Flat” (residence for civil servants) in Chandigarh, sectors 3 and 4.
