Iconic Serpentine sofa by German-born American Vladimir Kagan. Manufactured by Kagan Studios in 1990s. The famous designer is known for his extravagant designs, taking a turn in modernism into the direction of biomorphic and more flowing shapes. This is perfected in his most famous designs, the Serpentine sofa and the curvilinear rocking chairs. He attracted early attention in 1940’s New York, with high-profile clients like Marilyn Monroe, Gary Cooper and Andy Warhol. His furnitures are traded worldwide as high quality collector’s items. Upholstered in original grey/taupe wool fabric. Rare version with wood fineer finished base (usually it’s chrome).
