Ernest Igl for Wilhelm Werndl, ‘Directors’ writing desk, Germany 1970s. The body of this desk is entirely made of molded fiberglass and lacquered in a white color (original color). The carved wood drawers and the wooden writing surface are lacquered in a grey color. On the top and the bottom of the desk there is a carpet fabric in a similar grey color as the drawers and the writing surface. Strong shapes and practical inlays as well as the hidden storage space combines design & function. A real space age design classic which also can be used perfectly as a free-standing piece.
